Isabella Pilkington daughter of Thomas Pilkington and Jane Isherwood.

On my previous post I listed seven members of the Pilkington and Livsey families named Isabella.  I neglected to mention Isabella who was born in 1819 daughter of Thomas Pilkington and Jane Isherwood.  I don't have an exact birth date for Isabella or a death date.  I do have her on several census records.

In 1841 she is listed as 20 years old, living in Bolton, Lancashire, England on Kay Street.  She is listed with her father, sister Alice, sister Jane and full cousin Isabella who is a daughter or her father's sister Ann Pilkington.  Apparently Isabella's mother is deceased as she is not listed.  In fact she died on February 12, 1827 in Bolton.

This census lists her cousin as a sibling but I am convinced that this is her cousin listed as Isabella Pilkington Frost on FamilySearch.org.  FamilySearch lists Richard Daft as the father.  This is obviously incorrect.  Frost would be the surname of her father.  Her father and Ann were not married. Ann was also not married to Richard Daft, by whom she also had children.

Isabella is listed on the 1851 Census along with her father and her sisters Alice and Jane.  They are listed as living in the Little Bolton Civil Parish.  They are listed as being in the All Saints Ecclesiastical Parish.

I have not found an 1861 Census.  In 1871 Isabella is listed as head of household in the Bolton Civil Parish and All Saints Ecclesiastical Parish.  She is listed with Thomas Ainscow, who is apparently a son-in-law, as well as Robert Ainscow and Abraham Ainscow who are apparently grandsons.  Her daughter Jane apparently died before 1871 and after 1864.

In the 1881 Census Isabella is again or still head of the household.  The address given is 2 Ormrod Court.  Isabella is listed as a widow but I believe she never married as she still goes by the name Pilkington and I have found no marriage event.  Grandson Robert is now 19 and grandson Abraham is now 16.  Little Bolton is still the Civil Parish.  Her occupation is given as housekeeper.

In the 1891 Census Isabella is given as the grandmother of Abraham now 26 who is listed as the head of the household and they are now living at Grundy Fold.  Isabella is still listed as a housekeeper and single.  The Civil Parish is Little Bolton and the Ecclesiastical Parish is All Saints.  She is now 72 years of age.

I also have a grand-daughter with a middle name of Isabella and a cousin who has named her daughter Isabella.  That makes ten Isabellas in the family.
